OUR HISTORY

The Beginning
Grace Evangelical and Reformed Church began as a lay-led movement in the borough of Stemton. Community leaders began offering Sunday School classes for local children at the Dry Run Public School House as early as 1864, later moving to the Stemson School House in 1870.
Forming a Congregation
As Stemton grew alongside the local cement industry, residents desired a church of their own. In 1897, a petition was submitted to establish a new congregation, and 59 petitioners became the charter member of Grace Reformed Church. The church building was completed in 1898.Â
